This is also a reminder to us to be mindful of what we say to budding talents, or for that matter, everyone. For each tough girl like Charice, there are countless others who have given up on their dreams, for various reasons.
She very much still feels the hurt that she experienced in the past, inspite of the unprecedented success she now enjoys. Of course she is still young and vulnerable, but it still hurts. But she will only be motivated by these to further realize her full potential. And eventually she will realize that all these were in THE PLAN and that she has a higher purpose than just to prove something to her naysayers (unbeknownst to her, these videos are touching us and inspiring us already).
These videos also give us a better glimpse of the true contribution of her mother to her success, and crucially, to her character formation. A very admirable woman – a real heroine. As well, for each Raquel who has successfully raised her family above adversity, there are countless others out there in direr straits who are still struggling to make ends meet for their loved ones. Their kid could be the next Charice or Nobel Prize winner.
