ABS-CBN’s long exclusivity of Charice guestings on their TV shows has just been broken. Just yesterday, Charice has debuted her latest international single ‘Pyramid’ on Eat Bulaga, a noon-time variety show of a rival TV station GMA 7, also known as KAPUSO network.

Despite her rise to international super stardom, Charice would always appear on ABS-CBN TV shows when she gets the chance to return to her home, the Philippines. Everyone has wondered why she seemed to be tied on one network. Were other TV networks not interested in her? Or, did ABS-CBN have an exclusive talent contract with Charice that banned her from going astray to other TV networks?

Charice has taken pride on making known to the world that she is a Filipino, all local TV networks included. And in her self-titled international debut album, she has accomplished an exceptional feat as a Filipino by topping on international music charts, notably on Billboard HOT 100 and Billboard 200. She has also been an inspiration to Filipinos abroad. The Eaton Centre mall show in Toronto, Canada, where scores of Filipinos watched, attested to this fact. And, to top it off, she is going to be on a much talked about hit rated TV show in the US, Glee on its 2nd season.

GMA 7 has paved the way for other networks, besides ABS-CBN, to feature and have Charice perform on their shows. Truly, she has become an international star in the eyes of the world and in our local TV networks.

but, many abscbn stars have guested(?) in Eat Bulaga already… from what I know, Eat Buluga isn’t a show created by GMA, the management pays GMA to air their show so they’re not exclusive to GMA only…
but if I’m wrong, then so much the better…
not to bash GMA, but abs still has better reputation in terms of handling their artists…
