After 3 long years, Charice journey returns to South Korea for Star King, the talent show that got the eye of Ellen DeGeneres and Oprah after watching her mind-blowing performance in it on YouTube. Unknown to Charice herself at that time (of course) that this would be the start of her rise to stardom.

Charice return to Star King is part of her Asian tour promoting her self-titled international debut album. However, this in particular goes beyond just the mere Asian tour because this takes her back down the memory lane, that point in her life that she rose from the slump she was in after Little Big Star (LBS), a singing competition before in ABS-CBN, where she placed only 3rd. David Foster often refers to this snippet in her life with much sigh of disbelief on why such a tremendously talented singer lost in the Philippines.

Just recently, like 3 days ago, Jim Paredes writes a blog entitled ‘A Charice Story’, a story which he previously intended to write in the future to share one of his encounters with greatness, but decided to write it already. [ Read more on 'A Charice Story' ]

He shares a very convincing insight as to why the grand prize went the other way in LBS. No, it is not that his personal account that someone told them to review their choices because at the grand finals, he wasn’t one of the judges anymore. It’s actually just the two words he said. ‘It’s showbiz.‘
