As the rest of the world has already moved on after a few days Charice’s getting Botox news broke out, here’s one local news media that dwelled on it for a whole week. They were the first to break the news out. They had exclusive video coverage of Charice botox procedure which eventually made it on air in full color in their countless news and showbiz feature programming. Has it already been enough?
ANC's Media In Focus: THE BUZZ ABOUT BOTOX
Apparently, not yet. Now, on ANC’s Media In Focus, Charice is once again showcased to be the center of discussion, entitled ‘The Buzz About Botox.’ Before the show even got the chance to start, a fan tweeted and appealed that the TV station just simply let this news go and move on. Mr Tony Velaszuez, the host sitting in for Ms. Che-che Lazaro, responded with an assurance that the show would not be judgemental.
After watching, although the show has kept within bounds of an intellectual discussion and has offered some new facts, insights about what has already been reported and speculated on, this was definitely a wrap-up of their week-long hold-up in Charice’s botox news.

So, this is what media in the Philippines is like? How pathetic ! Clearly the news people are unprofessional and quite embarrassing to say the least. The theme should be changed to “How the Media Cover’s Its Ass Against Negative Comments From The Public.” I thought the media in North America was bad, but this shit is beyond bad. I guess the world has a new “tabloid capital.” It is called the Philippines – LOL.

Again, it must be slow day on the news today that you need to throw more crap out there and see if it will stick once more and trend again…..just to make your day. This station surely has a hidden agenda against Charice. You media guys should look inwardly at yourselves instead of pontificating your outdated and non-scholarly standards about teenage behavior and then masking these remarks as non judgmental honest discussions. Get off your high horse and get real and honest answers from your own teenage children instead of broadcasting this willy-nilly to try to elicit more frenzy debates. You will not find the answers out there but just more stupid crap to make more news for you. Charice is not perfect as most 18 year teenagers. A slight misstep in her choice is so so minuscule in comparison to well known celebrities that go to jail on drugs and alcohol. Rather than cover real news, you guys would rather dwell on the little stuff and the gall out it….bring in a panel to negate her. Guess what…… abs-cbn/Balitang America has become networks for tabloids.

It’s time for Charice to get out of the Philippines completely. This issue is not gonna die whenever she’s around here.

Well, that was useful! I thought the topic was about, if the media made the Charice Botox thing out-of-proportion. Instead, I found myself listening to a network’s 30 minutes worth of defense of itself for covering the Charice botox incident. The lady was even kinda saying – Oh we’re not being judgemental to Charice. Well, you just did, you showed her in a negative light again. Take note what this other lady said: Belo called them to cover the procedure. Ugh, that was such a nice topic – you should have stuck with it. And yeah, I’m still left with wondering why did the media really blow this topic out of proportion?
